Top Safety Award Winner - Infiniti EX35

Aug 10, 2009 – The new Infiniti EX35 CUV has earned the Top Safety Pick award (2008) from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

The luxury EX35 SUV is the first Infiniti to earn this top safety award. Cars that win the Top Safety Pick afford superior overall crash protection among the vehicles in their class. In order to qualify for this award, a vehicle must earn the highest ratings in the front, side, and rear tests, provided by the Institute. The car must also be equipped with Electronic Stability Control (ESC).

The Institute made the criteria to earn the safety award tougher in 2007 by adding the requirement that winners must have Electronic Stability Control. This recent requirement was based on the Institute’s research that cars with ESC are significantly reduced in the risk of driver involvement in crashes. The criteria to win has been made tougher because the award is intended to inspire safety advancements in new cars. The EX35 has such improvements, like a top crash test rating, and ESC (which comes standard).

The Infiniti EX35 has not only joined the top safety ranked cars but is a leader in its class. No matter what kind of crash you’re going to be in, you are guaranteed to be safe in the EX35. It’s important to choose a vehicle that will protect you no matter what and the Top Safety Pick from IIHS is intended to help people make the right and safest choices.
